A reported missing person was found dead at Lovers Leap State on Thursday morning, prompting the park to close, the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) said.
The park is closed as DEEP’s Environmental Conservation (EnCon) Police and New Milford police investigate the incident.
DEEP said it received a report of a missing person early this morning and found the person dead at the state park when they arrived.
There was no criminal aspect to the incident, and there is no threat to the public, according to DEEP.
The park will be closed until further notice, DEEP said.
