
Police have arrested the husband of a Winsted woman who was found dead in a home on Monday.
Leon Stetson, 67, is charged with murder, home invasion, and violation of a protective order.
Officers responded to the home on Oak Street around 9:45 p.m. on Monday and found Carrie Stetson dead inside. Leon Stetson was also found with serious injuries.
Carrie Stetson owned the Railway Cafe in town. Neighbors said she was a mother, a small business owner, an animal lover, and a volunteer.
According to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, she died of sharp force injuries and the manner of death was homicide.
Leon Stetson was arriagned from his hospital bed on Friday and held on $3 million bond.
According to the arrest warrant, Leon Stetson was addicted to crack cocaine and in recent months had become more despondent that his relationship with his wife was over due to his drug use.
