A 21-year-old man was charged with murder on Wednesday in connection with the fatal shooting of a 49-year-old man in Hartford last month, Hartford Police Lt. Aaron Boisvert said.
Xavier English of Hartford was charged with the murder of 49-year-old Colin Roberts, who was pronounced dead on the scene after officers were called to Albany Avenue and found him unresponsive, suffering from gunshot wounds around 7 p.m. on March 12, according to Boisvert.
The Hartford Police Major Crimes and Crime Scene Divisions responded and assumed the investigation.
English was also charged with carrying a pistol without a permit. He was located by members of the Hartford Police Violent Crimes Unit and the United States Marshals Violent Fugitive Task Force and taken into custody on Wednesday, Boisvert said.
He was transported to the Hartford Police Detention Facility, Boisvert said.
His bond is set at $1 million.
