The fourth unsealed search warrant regarding the investigation into a 12-year-old girl’s death in Enfield revealed that an HP laptop is being used as evidence in the case.
The 12-year-old was found dead in the bedroom of her Enfield home on March 18. On April 2, her stepfather, Anthony Federline, was arrested and charged with sexually assaulting her.
This search warrant is the fourth to be unsealed. The first, which revealed the list of items seized from the Elm Street home where the 12-year-old was found, was unsealed on April 9, and the second and third provided details on the tablet and cell phone seized. Those two were unsealed on April 13.
The fourth search warrant, signed on both March 20 and April 3 and stamped on April 7, stated that the HP laptop was found open on the floor of the 12-year-old’s bedroom, with a YouTube webpage open, indicating it had been used recently.
The laptop may provide helpful information about what the 12-year-old was doing in the days and weeks prior to her death, such as websites visited and communication between her and Federline, or other potential witnesses, according to the fourth search warrant.
Investigators believe information on the laptop could lead to evidence that could charge Federline with murder.
The 12-year-old’s cause of death has not been determined yet. Investigators are still awaiting toxicology results to determine that.
