Fairfield woman charged with arson after she was seen setting fire to her duplex: Police
A Fairfield woman was arrested after witnesses saw her intentionally setting fire to her duplex home, police said.
The 36-year-old woman from Fairfield was charged with arson in the third degree.
The Fairfield Police and Fire Departments responded to a report of a suspicious fire at a duplex on Castle Avenue on Thursday.
As they investigated, they learned that witnesses watched the homeowner light the home on fire and leave in her car, according to police.
Officers said they found the woman in her car and detained her.
She was held on a $500,000 bond and appeared in Bridgeport Superior Court on Friday.
