A former middle school teacher in Trumbull was arrested on Tuesday and is accused of exchanging inappropriate text messages with a 13-year-old boy, police said.
The 34-year-old man from Milford taught at Madison Middle School, according to police. He turned himself into Trumbull police and was charged with risk of injury to a child.
An investigation into the man began in March, when school administrators notified the school resource officer of a complaint, according to police.
The complaint stated that the former teacher sent inappropriate text messages to a 13-year-old male student between July 2025 and March 2026, police said.
The former teacher was released on $15,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court on Tuesday of next week.
School officials said the man resigned from his teaching position on April 2, shortly after the complaint was made.
