The downtown Fairfield Metro-North train station is closed on Thursday morning after a person was struck by a train, police and the Metropolitan Transportation Authority said.
The MTA posted on its website that early morning trains would be delayed after a person was struck by a train at Fairfield.
Aaron Donovan, the MTA’s deputy director of external communication, confirmed that the incident occurred at 8:15 a.m.
Fairfield police said they were working with MTA police to investigate the incident.
Commuters should use a different station and expect delays, police said. Donovan said service is impacted minimally.
There is no threat to the public, according to police.
