The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) announced Thursday that its Environmental Conservation (EnCon) police arrested a Danielson man in connection with a sexual assault case.
In November 2025, EnCon received a report of a past sexual assault of a minor that occurred within Mashamoquet Brook State Park. DEEP did not detail when the assault happened or how old the victim was.
EnCon investigators, along with the Connecticut Department of Children and Families (DCF), began an investigation to gather information related to the complaint.
During the investigation, it was learned that the 46-year-old man is a known acquaintance of the victim.
An arrest warrant was issued by the Danielson Superior Court on April 7, and the man was taken into custody by EnCon investigators and processed at Connecticut State Police Troop D in Danielson. The man was charged with first-degree sexual assault, risk of injury to a minor, and second-degree threatening.
He is being held on a $150,000 court-set bond and appeared in court on Thursday.
