Records show that the Burlington Volunteer Fire Department made trips to a home where skeletal remains were found.
Troopers responded to a home on Stanwich Lane on June 14 around 4:45 p.m. for a report of human remains inside.
According to state police, a new homebuyer, who purchased the home “as is” at a foreclosure auction, found the skeletal remains of three people at the home.
The OCME said the causes of death are pending further studies, and the manner is pending investigation.
Records show that the Burlington Volunteer Fire Department was also called to the home that day by police to test for carbon monoxide in the air. According to the incident log, none was found.
But the department also responded to the home weeks before the remains were found.
Crews were called to the home on Stanwich Lane in response to a police report of an audible fire alarm on May 23.
First responders did a walk-around of the home and did not see signs of a fire or smoke. The report stated that the home appeared vacant on the outside, with signage indicating that a management company should be contacted in case of an emergency.
Burglinton police contacted the management company to report the fire alarm, but the report says the alarm was left sounding as entry could not be gained without causing damage to the property.
