Bradley Airport is expected to be busy with spring break travelers beginning Wednesday, according to the Connecticut Airport Authority.
The agency is expecting more than 139,000 passengers to travel from Bradley from Wednesday through April 19.
People are urged to arrive early for their flights during the time period. The CAA suggests arriving at least 90 minutes prior to the departure time in order to allow time for check-in and getting through the TSA security checkpoint.
The busiest times at the airport are typically between 4 a.m. and 7 a.m. and then again mid-to-late afternoon, according to the CAA.
“We look forward to welcoming thousands of passengers at Bradley International Airport over the next few weeks,” said Michael W. Shea, Executive Director & CEO of the CAA. “This is also our first spring break where passengers will get to experience all of our recently completed terminal enhancements – designed to bring ease and more convenience for those departing and arriving from the airport.”
Airport officials warn that because of increased passenger volume, airport parking may be at or near capacity. They suggest allowing extra time to find parking, or to use alternative parking options on Schoephoester Road, Route 20, and Route 75.
