Body found in the water at Stillwater State Park in Torrington

DEEP officials say an adult male was recovered from Stillwater Pond in Torrington Friday night by the Environmental Conservation Police.

According to DEEP officials, EnCon police responded to the scene at around 7:30 p.m. for reports of a body recovered by Torrington police from Stillwater Pond.

DEEP EnCon Police identified the body as 65-year-old Stewart Rushlow with the state medical examiner investigating the cause of death.

The investigation is still ongoing and The State Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death.
