A Hartford man was arrested on Sunday and is accused of stealing cell phones from packages at a South Windsor FedEx facility, police said.
The South Windsor Police Department said the charges stem from an incident in February 2022 at a FedEx location on Kennedy Road. An investigation by both FedEx and police determined that the 54-year-old man had opened packages, removed cell phones, and then resealed the boxes, according to police.
Police obtained an arrest warrant, and the man was arrested during a traffic stop in Windsor on Sunday and charged with larceny in the fourth degree, police said.
NBC Connecticut has reached out to FedEx for comment but has not yet heard back.
The man was processed and released on a $3,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in Manchester Superior Court on July 8.
