Woman dead, another injured in stabbing at Bridgeport house

One woman has died and another woman is injured after a stabbing at a house in Bridgeport early Tuesday morning.

Officers were called to a rooming house in the 350 block of Park Avenue around 12:05 a.m. for a report of an altercation involving numerous people.

According to police, 41-year-old Willesha Riddick, of Bridgeport, was found bleeding and unresponsive at the front door of the home. She was transported to St. Vincent’s Hospital and was later pronounced dead.

Investigators said it was determined that Riddick had been stabbed multiple times.

Another woman also suffered a minor stab wound at the house, authorities said. She was treated at the hospital and released.

The stabbings are described as isolated incidents and there is no danger to the public.
