According to New Haven Police, a 16-year-old shot himself in a Brewery Square complex apartment.

They say officers responded to reports of a person shot and found a teen suffering a gunshot wound to his arm.

He was transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital where police say his injuries were determined non-life-threatening.

Officers say that the teen accidentally shot himself while handling a gun which they have since recovered.

He was charged with first-degree reckless endangerment and unlawful discharge.

That is all the information at this time, police say that anyone with information should contact detectives at 203-946-6304 or through the department’s anonymous tip-line at 866-888-TIPS (8477).
