No school has reached the Final Four more often across both programs than the University of Connecticut.
After this weekend’s games, the men’s and women’s teams will have combined for 33 Final Four appearances, including 25 by the women’s program and eight by the men’s.
Six of those Final Four appearances have been times when UConn sent both the men’s and women’s teams to the NCAA Tournament Championship in the same year. UConn is the only school to do that more than once.
UConn is also the only school to win both the men’s and women’s NCAA Tournament titles in the same season, accomplishing the feat in 2004 and 2014. The Huskies have a chance to do it again this year.
The success hasn’t stopped at reaching the Final Four. The women have won 11 national titles in 24 appearances, while the men have won six of their first seven trips. The outcomes of their 25th and eighth appearances will be decided this weekend.
And in each of the six years both teams reached the Final Four, at least one went on to win the national championship.
Here’s a timeline of those appearances:

Years in the timeline below mark times that the women’s team, men’s team or both teams have made it the Final Four in the NCAA tournament. Blue trophies mark times the women won the national championship, red trophies mark times the men won the championship.
