
A man was arrested after he drove the wrong way on I-91 for several miles around midnight on Wednesday, Connecticut State Police said.
State police said they received multiple 911 calls about a person driving north in the southbound lanes of I-91 in Hartford around 12:06 a.m. on Wednesday. Police attempted to stop the man’s car, but he continued to drive for several miles, ignoring their attempts.
The man was finally stopped near Exit 47E on I-91 South in Enfield while still driving the wrong way, police said.
He was charged with reckless endangerment in the first degree, operating under the influence of alcohol or drugs, reckless driving, disobeying the signal of an officer, evading responsibility, and driving the wrong way on a divided highway.
The man was unable to post his $25,000 cash bond and was transported to Hartford Correctional Facility.
He appeared in court at 9 a.m. in Hartford on Wednesday.
