Police identify man whose body was found in water in Norwalk on Wednesday

The man whose body was discovered in the water in Norwalk on Wednesday has been identified, police said.

Officers responded to Water Street around 9:15 a.m. Wednesday, after getting a 911 call about someone in the water. They found 69-year-old Michael Tyler in the water at the boat docks behind 50 Water Street and determined he was dead, Norwalk police Lt. Tom Podgorski said.

Tyler was a resident of Norwalk and lived on his boat near 50 Water Street, according to Podgorski.

The incident is still under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Michael Pugliese at (203) 854-3192 or at mpugliese@norwalkct.gov.
