Hartford police investigate after man was shot in Brook Street area

The Hartford Police Department is investigating a shooting in the area of Brook Street at Mather Street in Hartford on Monday afternoon.

Officers responded to the area around 12:13 p.m. on Monday after they were notified by a ShotSpotter notification. When they arrived, they found a “victim of gunfire.”

The victim, a man in his twenties, was alert and conscious on scene and was transported to a local hospital, police said.

The Hartford Police Department’s Major Crimes and Crime Scene Divisions responded and have assumed the investigation.
