An employee at Cloud World Smoke Shop is under arrest after an investigation Friday, Cromwell police say.
They say they assisted the Fire Marshall’s Office with the investigation on the sale of illegal fireworks at the smoke shop.
Five different types of illegal fireworks, 1,756 small nitrous oxide canisters, 35 large nitrous oxide canisters, several pounds of marijuana packaged for sale, packaging material and $805 were seized from an employee’s vehicle.
27-year-old Marawan Abdelmegid was charged with possession with intent to sell a cannabis product, sale of restricted substances and illegal possession and sale of fireworks.
He is being held on a $20,000 bond and will appear at Middletown Superior Court if the bond is not posted.
This investigation was also supported by the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection and the
Cromwell Health Department.
