The American Veterans Traveling Tribute (AVTT) will be coming to Wethersfield on July 23 to honor the names and legacy of American soldiers who lost their lives in battle.
The ceremony will feature a display of walls that have over 50,000 names and images of soldiers who fought in major wars and conflicts. There will also be a new addition to the list of names from the Global War on Terror, including 9/11 first responders.
“Remembering and respecting our Veterans for the selfless sacrifices they have made is one of our greatest responsibilities as citizens of this state and nation,” said Dorena Federici, the Event Coordinator.
AVTT was created in 2005 by Lieutenant Colonel Don Allen to allow people across the country to experience the Vietnam Memorial Wall in Washington, D.C., without traveling.
The Wethersfield memorial will be on display from 6 p.m. on July 23 until 3 p.m. on July 26.
