Clean up is continuing across the state on Monday as thousands of people remain without power days after powerful storms brought down trees and powerlines.
Strong storms on July 4th caused dozens of trees to fall with some hitting structures and vehicles. Several roads across Connecticut remain closed.
At the height of the Eversource outages, there were over 95,000 customers without power. Now, more than 30,000 customers remain without power.
Eversource said crews are coming from Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Canada to assist with restoration. Governor Ned Lamont said on Sunday that some repairs could take several days.
United Illuminating reported over 8,500 customers without power at one point, however, all of those outages appear to have been resolved.
If you see a downed power line, you’re urged not to touch it and should call 911.
