2 teens seriously injured in scooter crash in Bridgeport
Two teenagers are recovering from serious injuries after a scooter crash in Bridgeport on Tuesday evening.
The crash involving a scooter and a minivan happened at Island Brook Avenue Extension and Chopsey Hill Road around 5 p.m.
According to police, a 15-year-old teenager who was on the scooter was rushed into emergency surgery and is reportedly in critical condition. A 19-year-old teenager who was also on the scooter was transported to the hospital to be treated for what officials said was seriuos injuries.
Investigators believe the scooter was stolen on Monday on the East Side of Bridgeport and said a gun was recovered at the scene of the crash.
The Bridgeport Police Department’s Traffic and Accident Reconstruction Unit is investigating the crash.
