
A motorcyclist has serious injuries after hitting a vehicle from behind on Route 4 in Farmington on Sunday afternoon.
Officers responded to a collision involving a vehicle and a motorcycle on Route 4 near River Road around 4 p.m.
Investigators said the motorcyclist hit a slowing/stopped vehicle from behind.
According to police, the motorcyclist, identified as a 67-year-old male from New Britain, was not wearing a helmet and suffered a head injury in the collision. LifeStar responded to the scene and transported him to Hartford Hospital for further treatment.
Two people inside of the vehicle were also transported to the hospital by ambulance to be treated for minor injuries.
The crash remains under investigation by the North Central Municipal Accident Reconstruction Squad.
