Route 153 in Essex has reopened hours after a crash on Tuesday evening.

Transportation officials said the crash happened around 9 p.m. and brought down power lines and poles.

While DOT originally said the crash involved a tractor-trailer, state police Troop F clarified and said it was actually a pick-up truck.

Route 153 was closed in both directions at Mares Hill Road for several hours. The area has since reopened.

No injuries were reported.
