Two hospitalized after shooting in New London

Two people are hospitalized after a shooting in New London on Wednesday night.

According to police, around 9:16 p.m., officers on patrol reported hearing gunshots in the area of Williams Street and Broad Street.

While officers were searching the area, they discovered evidence of shots fired in the area of Broad Street and Hempstead Street.

After further investigation, the two adult gunshot victims had arrived at Lawrence + Memorial Hospital for treatment, police said.

The two individuals sustained gunshot wounds to their lower extremities, and their conditions are being monitored by the hospital staff, according to police.

The investigation is ongoing and detectives are working to identify suspects and determine the circumstances surrounding this incident, police said.
