2 kids taken to hospital after boat catches fire on Candlewood Lake
Two children were taken to the hospital after a boat caught on fire on Candlewood Lake on Memorial Day.
Firefighters responded to a reported boat fire at the Danbury Boat Launch of Hayestown Road around 4 p.m.
According to fire officials, six people evacuated the boat and were assisted by the Candlewood Lake Authority.
DEEP Environmental Conservation Police said all six people were recovered safely with minor injuries and two children were taken to the hospital.
The fire was extinguished by Danbury Fire. The investigation is ongoing.
