An incendiary device found in Middlebury on Sunday

An incendiary device was found at Avalon Farms in Middlebury on Sunday, according to Middlebury First Selectwoman Jennifer Mahr.

The State Bomb Squad responded and extinguished the device.

Officials seized the device for evidence and deemed the area safe for residents.

The Middlebury Police Department is conducting a criminal investigation.

There is no threat to the public.
