Waterbury officials have decided to cancel the city’s Memorial Day Parade this year due to rainy and cold weather.
The parade was originally scheduled to start at 1 p.m. on Sunday on Freight Street.
Rain will develop late Saturday, making for a chilly, wet Sunday with temperatures in the 50s.
The city’s Memorial Day services will still take place at 2 p.m. on Sunday but will be held indoors in the basement of the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, officials said.
Waterbury officials are encouraging residents to still attend the indoor services.
