A water transmission line has ruptured in Thomaston, one mile from the Waterbury line, according to Waterbury Mayor Paul Pernerewski, Jr.
The line is part of Waterbury’s water system.
According to the mayor’s office, the break is 50 feet from a section of pipe that was repaired after it also broke late last month.
Pernerewski said that no residents or businesses are expected to lose water service at this time. He said some may experience a temporary drop in water pressure or discolored water. The mayor’s office advises residents to run their faucets until the water runs clear, in that case.
Pernerewski said repair work is expected to take five to seven days. Waterbury Road in Thomaston will be closed while the line is repaired.
