
A Newington man has been arrested and charged as a fugitive from justice connected to a 1986 homicide in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
Charles Barry, 66, was taken into custody on Monday, according to Newington police.
The arrest was made in coordination with the Virgina Beach Police Department.
Barry is being held on $2 million bond and appeared in New Britain Superior Court on Tuesday.
According to police in Virginia Beach, Barry has been indicted by a grand jury in connection with the death of Roberta Walls. Police said Walls was found dead in 1986, but didn’t provide any details on the circumstances surrounding her death.
Virginia Beach police have scheduled a news conference on Wednesday to discuss the case.
