
A man was charged with driving under the influence after a fatal crash involving a school bus, motorcycle, and a pickup truck.
Farmington police said the crash happened around 4 p.m. Monday in the area of Meadow Road and Plainville Avenue (Route 177).
When first responders got to the scene, they found the three vehicles. The motorcycle operator was given immediate medical attention and rushed to a nearby hospital. They later died from their injuries. Farmington officials have not identified them at this time.
On the bus at the time of the crash were the driver and one child. Police said the driver of the bus was not injured and the child, a 7-year-old, was taken to a nearby hospital for minor injuries.
According to officials, a preliminary investigation determined that the bus, motorcycle, and the pick-up truck were driving west on Meadow Road. As they approached the intersection with Plainville Avenue, the bus and motorcycle were hit from behind by the truck, police said.
The driver of the truck was identified as Gary Berube, and he was taken into custody by Farmington police and initially charged with driving under the influence.
