
Police have identified a scooter rider that was killed in a collision with a vehicle in Bridgeport over the weekend.
Officers were called to the 1200 block of Huntington Turnpike around 8:45 p.m. for a report of a crash with injuries. Dispatchers later reported that there was a collision between a car and a motorcycle with at least one unresponsive driver in the street.
Emergency crews arrived and began rendering medical aid to three people. According to city officials, medics pronounced the driver of the motorized scooter dead at the scene. He has been identified as a 61-year-old Bridgeport man, but his name has not yet been released.
The driver of the vehicle involved in the crash and his passenger were both transported to the hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.
