State police investigation underway in Tolland

A Connecticut State Police investigation is underway in Tolland on Saturday.

State police said their Bureau of Special Investigations is conducting an investigation.

Spring Mountain Road is closed between Route 74 (Tolland Stage Road) and Elizabeth Lane. Anyone nearby is urged to avoid the area.

According to state police, the area is contained and there is no threat to the public.

The state Department of Agriculture is also at the scene.

The investigation is active and ongoing.

There is no estimate for when the area will reopen.
