
A motorcycle rider was seriously injured on Tuesday after he was hit by a car on the Hartford Turnpike in Vernon, police said.
The Vernon Police Department was called to the area of 14 Hartford Turnpike around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday after they received a report of a serious motor vehicle vs. motorcycle crash, according to police.
When they arrived with the Vernon Fire Department and emergency services, they found a man suffering from serious injuries. He was transported to Hartford Hospital for treatment, police said.
The driver of the car was not injured. That person is cooperating with the investigation, according to police.
The crash closed part of the Hartford Turnpike for several hours while police investigated. It has since reopened, police said.
The Metro Traffic Services (MTS) Accident Reconstruction Team is investigating the crash. No charges have been reported.
