
Authorities are looking to identify a deceased person, who was found in the Connecticut River in Old Lyme Saturday afternoon.
According to the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP), a passing boat came upon the individual in the area of the Chester-Lyme Ferry around 1.
The person who was found is only being identified as an adult male and the office of the chief medical examiner is working to determine the cause and manner of death.
A spokesperson with DEEP noted that there is no threat to the public and that the person appeared to have been in the water for an extended period of time.
