
Police arrested a Bloomfield man on sexual assault and several other charges after an attack in Hartford on Monday afternoon.
Officers responded to an undisclosed location in the city for a report of a possible kidnapping just before 3 p.m.
According to police, the 33-year-old suspect attacked a minor victim and attempted to sexually assault them. The victim fought back, which caused the suspect to stop the attack, but the suspect then stole the vicitm’s bad and headphones, police said.
Bystanders were able to stop the suspect and keep him there until police arrived.
He was arrested and charged with fourth-degree sexual assault, third-degree assault, second-degree strangulation, first-degree unlawful restraint, second-degree reckless endangerment, risk of injury to a child, second-degree breach of peace, and interfering with police.
