The Environmental Conservation Police (EnCon), Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP), and state police are searching for a missing person in the Naugatuck State Forest in Oxford, officials said.
EnCon police said they began their search for 50-year-old Justin Kruger, of Oxford, just after 10 p.m. on Wednesday. Officers worked with state police and searched into the early morning hours on Thursday.
The search was suspended and then resumed on Thursday morning, EnCon police said.
Kruger was last seen on April 29 at 1:30 p.m., leaving his home wearing a grey long-sleeve shirt with a grey vest, blue jeans, and white sneakers. EnCon police described him as a 6-foot-tall, 165-pound, white man with grey hair and blue eyes.
His vehicle was found in the Naugatuck State Forest near the Oxford Reservoir, according to EnCon police.
EnCon police, state police, DEEP, and the Oxford Fire Department are all working to find Kruger around the Naugatuck State Forest and Oxford Reservoir.
Anyone who may have seen Kruger or someone who matches his description, or has any information that could help officials find him is asked to call EnCon investigator Pat Kiely at 860-424-3333.
There is no threat to the public, EnCon police said.
