Eleven people displaced and one person hospitalized after apartment fire in New Haven

Eleven people were displaced after a fire in an apartment building around 1:47 a.m. on Tuesday.

Fire officials responded to 70 Fairmount Avenue and found a fire on the first floor of the apartment building.

One occupant was transported to Yale with burns, according to fire officials.

It took about 45 minutes for crews to bring the fire under control.  

This cause of the fire is under investigation.
