A math teacher at Norwich Free Academy who is also the head wrestling coach has been placed on administrative leave.

Head of School Dr. Nathan Quesnel sent an email to the NFA community on Monday about an alleged incident that took place during the winter sports season.

He did not discuss the nature of the incident, but said the school took immediate action after learning of the allegation.

NFA notified the Department of Children and Families and placed the teacher on administrative leave. It was not clear when the school learned about the alleged incident and when the teacher was placed on leave.

The school is cooperating with all investigating authorities and will not release any more information until the situation is resolved through due process, according to Quesnel.
