
One person is left in critical condition after being struck by a pick-up truck in Stamford on Saturday.
At around 2 p.m., the Stamford Police Department responded to the area of Strawberry Hill Avenue and Colonial Road for a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian.
A 2014 Toyota pick-up truck was traveling southbound on Strawberry Hill Avenue and made a left hand turn at the intersection of Colonial Road.
At the same time, a pedestrian was attempting to cross Colonial Road in a crosswalk and was struck by the pick-up truck and knocked to the ground.
The pedestrian suffered a life-threatening injury and was transported to the hospital, where they remain in critical condition.
The pick-up truck driver was issued an infraction ticket at the scene for failure to grant the right of way to a pedestrian in a crosswalk. No other charges have been filed.
Police are continuing to investigate the accident.
