Man impaled by stick at Old Furnace State Park in Killingly, DEEP says

A man was impaled by a stick at Old Furnace State Park in Killingly on Tuesday, the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection said.

The 49-year-old was extricated from the woods and transferred via medical helicopter to a hospital, according to DEEP.

The South Killingly Fire Department is asking the public to avoid the area as they investigate this incident.
