Tax Day food deals 2026: Freebies and discounts to score on April 15

No one circles Tax Day on their calendar with excitement. Between tracking down documents and wondering whether you will owe money, it can feel more stressful than satisfying. Even if a refund is on the way, it usually comes with a sigh of relief rather than celebration.

There is, however, a small upside. This year, a wide range of restaurants and brands are rolling out limited-time offers to help customers unwind after filing. From free treats to discounted meals, these Tax Day deals on Wednesday, April 15, offer a reason to treat yourself no matter how your return turns out.

Here is a look at some of the food and drink deals available this Tax Day:

BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse
Customers can take $10 off a $40 online order on April 15 by using the code TAXDAY. The offer is valid on everything from deep dish pizzas to desserts.

Blue Buffalo
Even pets are getting in on the action. Through Tax Day, dog owners can visit BlueBuffaloDogTaxCredit.com for a chance to win a $1,000 credit to help cover pet food costs.

Tax season begins today: Here are the changes to know about before you file

Bluewater Grill
The West Coast seafood chain is offering handcrafted cocktails for $10.40 on April 15, with savings of up to $5 per drink.

California Tortilla
The chain is bringing back its “government cheese” promotion. Customers who make a purchase on April 15 can get a free small chips and queso or chips and salsa by using the password “Government Cheese” in-store or GOVCHEESE online.

Capriotti’s Sandwich Shop
Rewards members can score a free combo upgrade, which includes chips and a fountain drink, with the purchase of any sub on April 15.

Checkers & Rally’s
From April 14 through April 15, the Big Buford burger will be available for $3. The chain is also offering several value meals, including a $5 MVP Meal Deal that comes with a sandwich, fries, a drink and an apple pie.

Dickey’s Barbecue Pit
Customers can get $10 off orders of $50 or more with the code WRITEOFF. The deal is available online and through the Dickey’s app on April 14 and April 15.

Del Taco
The chain is offering multiple deals, including a free Snack Taco with a $5 purchase, buy one, get one free Beer Battered Crispy Fish Tacos and $1 Grilled Chicken Tacos.

Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers
Rewards app users will receive 250 bonus points with any purchase on April 15, which can be redeemed on future orders.

Grubhub
GrubHub is giving customers a chance to get some money back on fees they paid for deliveries in 2025. Customers can visit www.GrubhubFeeReturn.com and upload a 2025 receipt for the chance to receive a $20 Grubhub credit.

JINYA Ramen Bar
Customers who say “tax-free” on any Tuesday in April will have the sales tax on their food covered. The offer is valid April 7, 14, 21 and 28.

Kona Ice
The shaved ice chain continues its annual tradition of giving away free shaved ice on Tax Day at participating locations.

Krispy Kreme
Krispy Kreme customers who purchase any dozen doughnuts at regular price can get a second Original Glazed dozen for free. For online and in-app purchases, use promo code TAXBREAK.

Mountain Mike’s Pizza
Rewards members can take $10 off a $40 purchase through the Mountain Rewards app on April 15.

Olive Garden
The chain’s Buy One, Take One promotion is back through May 3. For $14.99, customers get a full dine-in meal and a second chilled entrée to take home.

Paris Baguette
Rewards members can enjoy a free pastry with the purchase of any beverage on April 15.

Pizza Hut
Pizza Hut is offering a large 3-topping pizza starting at just $10 on April 15. Customers can choose between one of three crusts – Hand Tossed, Tavern Style or Thin ‘N Crispy.

Popeyes
The fried chicken chain is offering customers a 25% off Tax Day 3-piece Tenders Combo, which includes includes a 3-piece tenders, one regular side, one biscuit, and a drink. The offer is limited to orders made on the Popeyes app or Popeyes.com.

Portillo’s
From April 13 through April 15, rewards members can get a slice of cake for $1 with a $5 purchase.

QDOBA
Rewards members can take part in “Tax Day Guac Relief.” After completing a short survey, customers will receive $5 off an entrée, redeemable between April 20 and April 26.

Travelin’ Tom’s Coffee
Participating trucks will offer free frozen beverages of the customer’s choice all day on Tax Day.

Subway
Subway is offering Sub Club members a free footlong sandwich with the purchase of another footlong. Additionally, 1,040 randomly selected members who use the promo code FLBOGO on Tax Day, April 15, will also receive a surprise free Footlong coupon deposited directly into their account as a “refund” from Subway.

Wendy’s
Wendy’s is offering customers a free order of 6-piece nuggets with a purchase of $5 through the Wendy’s app on April 15.
