
Early Thursday afternoon, detectives from the Watertown Police Department executed a search warrant at Garden Street in Ansonia.
Police were helped in the search by the Connecticut State Police Statewide Narcotics Division, the U.S. Postal Inspection Service (USPIS), and the Ansonia Police Department.
Following a narcotics investigation in Watertown, investigators obtained and executed the warrant at the Ansonia home, where they located and seized a large amount of illegal drugs, officials said.
Joseph Crego, 30, was arrested at the scene, according to police.
Crego was charged with operation of a drug factory, two counts of sale of a hallucinogen, sale of narcotics, and sale of narcotics.
Crego is being held on a $750,000 bond and is scheduled to appear at Derby Superior Court on April 10.
