
A motor vehicle collision with a tree in New Canaan on Tuesday night left one dead and another with non-life-threatening injuries.
Connecticut State Police responded to the area of Exit 13 on Route 15 at approximately 10 p.m.
Police say that a preliminary investigation showed that the vehicle, a 2011 Honda Accord, veered off the road and crashed into a tree near the right shoulder. The car caught fire after the crash, according to police.
Police say the unidentified female passenger was pronounced dead at the scene by Stamford EMS. The driver, a 64-year-old man from Bridgeport, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Norwalk Hospital.
