Bicyclist injured after being struck by car in Stamford

A bicyclist is suffering life threatening injuries after a collision with a vehicle in the area of 900 Washington Blvd around 9:40 p.m. on Wednesday.

Officers said the operator of a 2010 Toyota RAV4 was traveling northbound on Washington Blvd and struck the operator on an electric bicycle that was crossing eastbound.  

The operator of the vehicle was not injured and stayed on scene. Police said, the bicycle operator is currently being listed in critical condition at Stamford hospital.

According to police, no charges have been filed against anyone at this time.

The investigation remains ongoing, and anyone with any information about the incident should contact the Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Squad at (203) 977-4712.
