A 32-year-old man died on Thursday morning after an industrial accident, police said.
The man was using a large piece of commercial metal equipment when an accident occurred that resulted in traumatic asphyxiation, according to the Hamden Police Department’s preliminary investigation.
Hamden police responded to 2895 State Street around 7 a.m. for a report of an industrial accident and found the man, police said.
“At this time, preliminary investigation does not indicate any evidence of malice or criminal wrongdoing by any third party,” police wrote in a press release.
The Hamden Police Department, the Hamden Fire Department, and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) are all conducting the ongoing investigation, according to police.
OSHA will also conduct a parallel investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident, police said.
