
Norwich police arrested two men wanted for murder in New York.
They arrested 19-year-old Zion Martinez after having an interaction with him on March 4. During the interaction, officers learned Martinez had two warrants for his arrest, including one charging him with second-degree murder in connection with a fatal shooting in Bronx, New York on February 11.
Police took Martinez into custody and charged him with fugitive from justice, possession of a controlled substance, and interfering with an officer.
Norwich police reached out to the NYPD about having Martinez in custody and were told a second suspect in the shooting was likely in Norwich with Martinez.
After an investigation, police determined the second man, 19-year-old Anthony Caballero, was in Norwich.
On Friday, police from a number agencies carried out an arrest operation at an address on Clairmont Avenue in Norwich and took Caballero into custody.
Caballero was charged with fugitive from justice and interfering with an officer. He also faces a second-degree murder charge in New York.
