A Wallingford woman received a $12,762 refund for a malfunctioning Jacuzzi after reaching out to NBC Connecticut Responds, following months of failed repair attempts by the retailer.
Rita Hogan said she bought a hot tub from Namco Pools in Orange, CT, but within days, she said it was turning off on its own, causing the water temperature to go down, and it affected the water quality.
She said Namco Pools sent a technician out to her home several times to try and fix it, but the problems persisted. After three months of failing to resolve it with the retailer and get it fully fixed or refunded, Hogan decided to reach out to NBC Connecticut Responds for help. We contacted the retailer and manufacturer on her behalf.
Jacuzzi said Namco Pools was an authorized Jacuzzi dealer at the time of the sale and was therefore responsible for any service or repairs.
Namco Pools said the hot tub was under warranty and said it contacted Hogan, arranged for the removal of the hot tub, and for a full refund of $12,762.
