A 66-year-old man died after a serious tree-cutting accident in Trumbull on Wednesday afternoon, police said.
The Trumbull Police Department and emergency services were called to a home on White Plains Road for a reported tree-cutting accident around 3:20 p.m.
They arrived minutes later and attempted to treat Javier Valdovinos, who they determined had died before they got there, according to police.
Police said their preliminary investigation indicated Valdovinos was cutting a large tree limb when he got trapped between the limb and the tree. Two other people were home and called 911 immediately.
Police said Valdovinos was the homeowner.
Part of White Plains Road was closed for a short period of time on Wednesday as emergency crews removed parts of the tree from the road.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine the official cause of death after they perform an autopsy.
