The Capitol Groove festival postponed until 2027 over ‘scheduling challenges'

The Capitol Groove festival postponed until 2027 over ‘scheduling challenges'

The Capitol Groove music festival announced Friday that it is postponing its 2026 festival this summer. The announcement came after some ticket holders received refunds without explanation.

The Capitol Groove is a 2-day festival in Hartford that attracts thousands to the Capitol City for big-name acts like last year’s headliner, ‘Bleachers.’ It’s an event that concertgoers speak very highly about, and it brings a lot of traffic to downtown Hartford.

The festival was originally scheduled for June 27 and 28. The festival posted to their Instagram:

We can’t thank you enough for your support in our first two years.
Due to scheduling challenges surrounding this year’s festival, we’ve made the difficult decision to postpone The Capitol Groove until 2027. We look forward to seeing you there!

They said that refunds for the 2026 tickets were being processed and should be completed within the next two weeks.

Some customers told NBC Connecticut that they received $300 into their bank accounts on Friday morning as reimbursement for tickets they purchased months ago. They said they were confused because the lineup still hasn’t been released yet, and as of Friday morning, they no longer have tickets. In the past, the lineup was announced in December.

“I got nothing from Capitol Groove, and they’re not responding to comments, DMs, or emails. We’ve gone to shows at Infinity Hall on Front Street and asked people there, and nobody knew what was happening. No information, nobody knew anything,” said Samantha Gorski, who purchased a loyalty ticket months ago.

“It’s just funny to me that they couldn’t, just, even give any sort of message about what was going on. I feel like if you spent all this time and energy to build this community and this event in Hartford and you’ve spent the last two years building this… and then just to disappear suddenly,” said Tim Black, who also purchased tickets.

NBC Connecticut has reached out to Goodworks Live, Infinity Hall, and the City of Hartford as well.
